Report Insurers Who Don’t Pay Claims within 30 Days

WV law requires insurers to pay dental insurance claims within 30 days

There are some exceptions, but those also have the following limits:

  • If additional information is requested by the insurer, it should all be made in one request.
  • Within 15 days of that request, may only request one additional time of information.
  • Upon that receipt, the insurer shall pay or deny the claim within 30 days.”
  • Interest, at a rate of 10 percent per annum, shall be paid without demand, at the time the claim is paid.

In the large box requesting you to outline your concern, please cut and paste the following, along with adding additional details about the claim.Β Β “This insurer has not adhered to the minimum fair business standards outlined in WV Β§33-45-2 and interest is expected to be paid once this is resolved.”
