West Virginia State law requires county boards of education to meet in person to approve all expenses…and that includes their employees’ dental claims.
Bento can process claims more quickly (almost immediate) for private employers or other public entities using their payment platform. Disappointingly, the state law referenced above is the reason they can’t process county school employee claims as quickly.
The WVDA executive director met with the State Treasurer and the CFO for the State Board of Education earlier this year about the issue. Due to the current financial stress that many counties are under, there is NO interest in changing the law that requires county boards to meet to approve expenses.
