Dentist Request: “Please clarify Bento’s relationship with Cigna”

The attached flyer being distributed to Kanawha County School employees has prompted a few questions about Bento’s relationship with Cigna.

WVDA reached out to Bento’s President, Tony Abel, for clarification and was told:

“Dentists that enroll directly with the Bento network are NOT shared with any other plans or networks.

Bento has agreed with Cigna to lease its Shared Administration Plus commercial dental network. Therefore, dentists participating in this Cigna network are also considered in-network for Bento members. Providers in the Cigna Shared Administration Plus network are expected to honor their Cigna fee schedule for Bento members’ covered dental services.”
