Thank You for Making It a Success!
A HUGE thank you to all the members who joined us in Charleston for our Legislative Reception and Dentistry Day at the Capitol! We were proud to welcome 10 legislators on Wednesday, including:
- Senate Health Chair Laura Chapman
- Delegate Wayne Clark – Lead sponsor of the Dental Insurance Transparency Act
It was a wonderful opportunity to discuss our issues with elected officials and answer their questions directly.
Busy Day at the Capitol
Throughout the day, our members:
- Held numerous meetings with legislators
- Witnessed a Senate floor session
- Attended a committee meeting
Dr. Dan Joseph testified before the Senate Health Committee on Senate Bill 710 – Teledentistry. He did an excellent job presenting, received few questions, and the bill passed unanimously out of committee!
Unified Support for Hand-Skill Exams
In our meetings, legislators clearly heard our message about the need for a clinical hand-skill exam prior to licensing dentists and dental hygienists in West Virginia. Everyone we spoke to expressed support and indicated willingness to work with us as the Universal Licensing Bill moves forward.
