HB 4335 to Streamline Medicaid Credentialing
The House Health Committee is considering a bill sponsored by Committee Chairman, Delegate Evan Worrell (R-Cabell), to expedite Medicaid credentialing of providers.
House Bill 4335 requires traditional Medicaid to complete enrollment determinations for Medicaid providers within 5 business days of receipt of a completed application.Β If the application is incomplete, the provider applicant will be notified within two business days with a detailed explanation of missing information and provide a link for missing materials.
The bill also requires the Medicaid MCOs to complete provider credentialling within 60 calendar days of receipt of a clean and complete application.Β An MCO may request a one-time extension of 30 days if application is incomplete.
The CAQH electronic form shall be used, and no entities shall require a provider to provide any information in addition to the information required by the applicable standard credentialling form.
The bill was advanced to the mark-up/passage stage for further committee consideration.
