Your Profession Needs You!
Please join your fellow dentists in Charleston to advocate for dentistry in West Virginia on March 5 and/or March 6.
The WV Dental Association (WVDA) needs your voice to help legislators understand the importance of our Dental Insurance Transparency Bill and how it fights predatory dental insurance practices. This important legislation will:
- Require an opt-out provision for virtual credit card payments.
- Prohibit network leasing — you will only be a provider for insurances you directly sign up with, not those you do not.
- Establish Dental Loss Ratios (DLR) on private insurers so patients get more value for their premiums.
- Require more transparent DLR reporting by insurance companies.
Many legislators are new and want to hear directly from you about how these issues affect your practice and patient care.

WVDA Legislative Reception
- Wednesday, March 5th from 7:00 – 8:30 PM
- Location: University of Charleston’s Riggleman Hall
- Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and bar
- Welcome comments at 7:35 PM
Dentistry Day at the State Capitol
- Thursday, March 6th starting at 8:00 AM
- Activities include advocacy training, meetings with legislators, Senate recognition, lunch, and attending a Senate Health Committee meeting
